Anxiety wakes up in your eyes when you see fresh drops of resin on a new jumper. But you should just wander through the spruce forest or pound coniferous trees for firewood. The little thing can still be saved if you know how to clean the resin from clothes at home.

Folk remedies for cleaning resin from clothes

Fabric preparation:

  • Lay the fabric or attach to the board for convenience.
  • Brush off dust and dirt.
  • Moisten the area around the stain with water, talcum, starch or oil. This will not allow dirt to spread further.

We will need: refined gasoline, baby soap, water and a bowl.

  1. Stir petrol and soap in equal quantities in a bowl.
  2. Apply the solution to the dirt and wait an hour.
  3. Three minutes rinse the product until the composition with the resin is washed off.
  4. Wash in a typewriter.

We will need: cotton pads and alcohol (and acetone will do). Medical alcohol is suitable for fur products.

  1. Saturate the disc with alcohol.

Useful tips

  • Do not rub, do not heat, do not wash off the resin with water and do not put the item in the washing machine without prior cleaning!
  • Scrub in several steps.
  • Do not use motor gasoline for cleaning!
  • Choose a product based on the type of fabric, so as not to spoil the clothes.
  • Rinse clothes after each procedure.
  • Make sure the resin does not dry: it is more difficult to remove it.
  • Apply gently and rub slowly. If the spot is small, it is better to use a pipette.
  • Wear rubber gloves and open the windows in the apartment.
  • Fresh traces scour easier.
  • The more resin you remove before applying solvents, the easier it is to cope with contamination.
  • Clean from the inside out, so as not to spoil the clothes by chemical means.

Be careful, study the type of fabric! If the dirt is on the silk and you use acetone, a hole is formed.

Do not forget about safety precautions so that chemicals do not fall on the skin. Do not drip cleaned resin on other things.

After using chemicals, alcohols, gasolines and other liquids, clothing acquires a characteristic odor. Therefore, thoroughly rinse things and wash in the machine with the use of air conditioning.

Be careful when you are near conifers. It is better to prevent the appearance of stains than to waste your nerves and strength on cleaning.
